The Beach...

in Santa Barbara...After the wedding we stayed the night in SB and headed to breakfast with the family the next day. Then we ventured down to the beach, where my sister-in-law thought it would be a good idea to try and take some photos of the kids...we should have known better! Well we both did get a couple good ones of our families, but 4 wiggle, jiggle, moving, crying, want to be playing kids was another story, well here is that story!

Kauai

Yes, I am behind...but so much has happened lately! I got to go to Kauai for 5 days in July with just the girls, my friends that is! Daddy stayed home with the kiddos and Kye-Kye came to help for a few days. My good friend got married in Kauai, so my cousin-in-law and I planned to meet there...well I am not so good at flying so my sis-in-law decided to tag along and play in the sun too! We had the best time, drinking lava flows, hanging by the pool, laying at the beach, doing a little sight seeing and enjoying the beautiful wedding! Here are some highlights:

Monterey May 2010

The first night we were in Monterey we really wanted to walk along Pebble Beach and enjoy the sunset..well not going to happen! It was soooo windy we could barely open the car doors. Scott and Madison tried to brave it for a moment but did not last long!

Kauai~Hawaii Day2

We made it successfully to Kauai. We stayed in a condo in Kapaa Town, on the west side of the island. My friend's parents own the condo and it was great! We talked to them the night we arrived and they told us about a little beach that the locals with small children love called "Baby Beach"! So we got up around 8:00 am (Hawaiian time) and headed over there.

It was perfect. The waves were fairly calm held back by a little rock wall about 10 feet out and the sand was warm. Mackenzie had a little sun "tent" that she received and she slept/sun bathed inside while we played in the water, made sand castles and enjoyed the sun.

Then we made our way to the center of Kapaa for a lunch at a local diner. We ordered and took it back to the pool at the condo. It was great.

Then we got dressed and headed to the Tahitian Lounge for dinner. And then to the Coconut Market Place for ice cream...not too bad for our first day!

Hawaii~Day 1

We boarded the plane and I was NERVOUS...flying for 5 hours with 2 kids 3 1/2 and 2 months. I was thinking are we crazy? We walked on to the plane and we almost had a major fit...we were seated in the 3 middle seats and Madison really wanted a window seat. Every other time we have flown she gets to sit by the window...so we had to convince her these seats were better and she was alright...after we took off, I knew it was going to be ok...Madison colored, laughed, took a nap and sat in her seat. Mackenzie snoozed, ate, snoozed, pooped, snoozed and ate some more!

We landed in Honolulu and spent the day playing on Waikiki beach and shopping in the International Market Place. Then that night we boarded our flight to Kauai!

Hawaii

If you are reading this today we are in Hawaii...I hope our flight went well with the girls and we still have our sanity all week....I will post when we get home!

NEW YORK CITY

We had a wonderful time in New York, we saw 2 Broadway shows: Wicked and Shrek, we did a city tour, went to Uptown, Downtown, Midtown, Central Park, Brooklyn and spent a lot of time in Times Square. We shopped, we ate, we walked, we ate, we people watched and ate somemore! Here are just a few highlights from our trip...it has taken awhile to get back into the swing of things, with the time change and being 4 1/2 months pregnant, I have been exhusted this week!
