My Cousin Chad...May you rest in peace




Chad Edward Kinney
March 26, 1971 - Sept. 8, 2009
Chad Edward Kinney (corporal, Dothan Police Depaerment) of Cowarts, Alabama, passed away Monday, Sept. 8, 2009, at his residence. He was 38.


Funeral services were held on Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel in Dothan, Alabama, with Chaplain David Willis officiating. Burial with Dothan Police Department honors followed at Sunset Memorial Park with Robert Byrd directing.
Chad was born on March 26, 1971, in Redwood City, California. He graduated from Vallejo High School in 1989. He joined the U.S. Army at the age of 18 and served our country in Desert Storm. He was stationed in Fort Benning, Georgia, prior to moving to Dothan, Alabama, in 1993. Chad joined the Dothan Police Department as an officer in 1997 and was a corporal in the K-9 Unit for the past 10 years.



Chad was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Kewley, and grandmother, Luella Kewley.
He is survived by his wife, Kelli Kinney, son, Jack Kinney, and daughters, Erin and Mary Ashley Kinney, all of Dothan, Alabama; father, Harry (Marlene) Kinney of California; brother, Anthony (Sandra) Kinney, nephew, A.J, and nieces, Tiffany and Alyssa of Washington; grandfather, Harold Kewley; his uncle and aunt, Dave and Vickie Marshall; cousins, Katie (Alex) and Antonio Marshall of Vallejo, Kimberlie (Scott), and Madison and Mackenzie Vaughan of Roseville, CA; aunt, Judy Kewley; cousins, Ryan and Hayden Kewley of Washington; and aunt, Kathy Herman of Novato, CA.



In lieu of flowers, donations to the Chad Kinney Memorial Fund can be made at any Wachovia Bank.
