I really need to download pictures

Well we carved pumpkins tonight and Madison had a lot of fun, but didn't really like putting her hand in all the goop. (Note to all: Make sure you have a pumpkin carving kit before you start~ I thought I had one, but I must have thrown it away, so we had to use 'gasp' a knive~) She liked looking through all the seeds, and we even roasted some after we were done...I need to get the photos on here...soon

Also went to a Halloween Carnival/Community Event last night. She was a little aprehensive at first, then warmed up and wanted to eat all of the candy at once...Friday will be tricky, I am sure she will want to eat each piece as she gets it.

Photos will be inserted here later:

UPDATE

My dad is home...all tests came back great...they think that he passed a gallstone over the course of the pain between Saturday and Sunday night and has reflux. So a big change in lifestyle for him with eating and exercise and sleeping and taking some pills to help with the reflux.

PLUS Madison went to the dentist for the first time today. It went great. She let the dentist look in her mouth, count her teeth and check out the health of her teeth and gums. She was a little shy at first but really loved looking at the little mirror and playing with the air instrument. I will post photos later.

That's all for now...goodnight!

Pumpkin Patch

We took a little time after the birthday party to go to the pumpkin patch. While we were there, my dad ended up in the hospital with gall bladder issues, so we had to cut it short, but it was still fun...

update: my dad is still in the hospital, but they are trying to figure out what is exactly going on, as his gall bladder looks better today with the antibiotics, so maybe no surgery, we still are not sure. keep him in our thoughts

Birthday Party= FUN!

This weekend we hosted a birthday party for 13 kids, 22 adults and 1 "build-a-bear" lady. It turned out wonderful! The kids had so much fun playing in the backyard in the house, on the play structure, in the pool full of balls, then making their own stuffed animals, eating pizza & cake and open presents, followed by running up and down the street to wear off some of the sugar. Here a few photos of the shindig!

I don't know where she gets it...

Last night was no different from other nights during our bed time routine, "I don't want to go to bed, the vent is scary, I am not tired, I need water, I need a blankie, I need my lovie..."
BUT...
As she was drifting off to sleep she was going through the alphabet and singing the song and then going back and saying all of the sounds. It is crazy...I teach kindergarten and more than half of my class does not know this! And please don't think I am a crazy mom trying at times to quiz her, it is all her doing. I am afraid she is really growing up.
NOT TO MENTION...
any chance she gets she shows her muscles in her arms and declares that she is growing getting so big, "feel my arms" I am strong.

reading

I have been reading a lot of bulletin boards/blogs about others going through this horrible event, although it doesn't make it easier, at least I don't feel alone.
Please pray for Scott and I to make it through this trying time.
It really sucks.

Thought for the night

After a miscarriage, you grieve for a person you never knew, and for a relationship that ended before it really began. You grieve not for a person who has lived and died but for an unlived life. You grieve for the loss of your future as the parent of the baby who has died. You are sad not just because of what you have lost but because of what will never be.
