Matt and Kristen are hitched...

The first weekend of May welcomed a road trip for us down south...we headed to a little town outside of Paso Robles for the reception for Matt and Kristen. It was at the bride's parents' ranch. It was a very casual affair and the kids had a great time seeing family and visiting!

Roller Skating...

It seems each week when I pick Madison up from preschool there is another birthday invitation in her cubbie or backpack! YIKES! Last weekend it was roller skating....and I was nervous! Scott was unavailable to come with us and I had to take both girls to a roller skating party! Madison has never been to a roller skating party, let alone ever even tried on a pair of skates. So I asked the lady I work with to come along to help out with the baby...I really don't know how to roller skate that well, so I was a little apprehensive about the whole thing....but....

I shouldn't have.

It was FABULOUS! The party included a lesson and the people who work there were awesome. They have a little trick, it is called tightening up the skates so they barely roll. Then the kids are soooooooooo successful and they are not scared! It was a great party. Madison had a blast and felt confident and didn't once ask for me to come and help her! I would recommend this party idea to anyone looking for something different!

Say What?

We try to make things fun, a game, a race to help Madison accomplish simple mundane tasks. Like getting dressed, setting the table, you get the picture, right?

So the other day we get in the car and she yells "I can beat you up mommy!" so I say "what" and she repeats it " I can beat you up!" so I tell her that is not a nice thing to say.

So she says ok , my seat belt can beat you up!" well now I am wondering what in the world is she talking about?!? So I ask her, I don't get it what are you talking about!!

Finally in a quiet voice, I think she knew she said something wrong "mommy I can put my selt belt on faster and I can beat you."

Oh, I finally got it and asked her were you trying to say I can beat you in the race to buckle up? She replies yes and we talk about what beating up someone means...she got it and now when we get in the car she laughs and says her selt belt will beat me up!

Fab hair do's!!

Last week we had some friends over for dinner. They have 2 kiddos as well. One is Madison's age and the other Mackenzie's age. It is a perfect combo for everyone! We met during Madison's ballet class and we have become great friends. It is nice to be able to have so much in common with someone.

Back to the night of the dinner. We finished eating and the babies were playing down stairs. The big sisters went upstairs to play. They were playing dress up and we didn't think much of it. Then we realized it was WAY TOO QUIET! We should have know better.

Scott went up to check on them, only to find them locked in the girl's bathroom. He used the secret key to open the door. He found them....doing their hair...not bad right....WRONG!!

They had found everything they could think of to do their hair. They used sunscreen, detangler spray, body lotion, shower gel and cotton balls. WOW! They looked, well, greasy! We asked them what they were doing and they said getting ready for the ball! Of course the mom's rushed to get the cameras to document the whole ordeal! Here are some photos of the girls in action and the finished product!

Relay for Life

The Relay for Life celebrated it's 26th anniversary this year. I have had the priveldge of walking for 3 years now. This relay is a wonderful way to celebrate the survivors of cancer and honor those who lost the battle. I have had family members in both of those catergories.

Not only is it a wonderful way to raise awareness and funds to the American Cancer Society, it is always a fun way to spend the weekend with wonderful friends. My school has a team and a camp site to spend the day!
